  1. SING YOUR OWN SONG
Be faithful to the unique gifts in you. Follow your highest calling and choose noble goals. You'll have more energy when you do what you love.

  2. SEE IT AND BELIEVE IT
Dare to dream. What is your heart's deepest desire? Close your eyes and make a mental movie of how it will be when you are living that dream. What do you see and hear? Replay the "movie" often, adding more color, sound and details each time.

  3. MAKE A PLAN, BUT DON'T CAST IT IN CONCRETE
Decide what things you will accomplish towards your dream by one year from now. Every ninety days, make a plan. Write down the specifics of what you will do during that time: who, what, when, where, why, how. At the end of the 90 days, evaluate how things went. Then make a new plan that incorporates what you learned. Balance determination with flexibility as you go along.

  4. DAILY DISCERNMENT-- KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE HORIZON
Considering your goals, make a checklist of specific things you will do this week. Look it over each morning and set your priorities for the day. Skip the important things for the most important things. Can't decide what's most important? Consider, "What would you do if you knew this was your last day on earth?"

  5. EXPECT MIRACLES
Trust that the right mentor, book, thought, and assistance will come to you. Harness the power of positive self-talk. "My unique gifts are a service to humanity." "Everything I need will come at the perfect time." Act as if it has all come true. It will! ARE YOU A WORRIER? Read "Walk Away from Worry: Six Easy Steps" at http://www.virtuesconsulting.com/worry.html

  6. PERSEVERE
Stay in motion and, sooner or later, you will discover what works. If one method fails, learn what you can from the experience and move on to plan B, C, D or E!

  7. PLAY
Take time to restore your spirit. Balance purposeful activity with day dreaming, meditation, being in nature or serene solitude. "Re-create" yourself with recreation.

"Follow your bliss. Find where it is and don't be afraid to follow it." Joseph Campbell

"Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal." Pamela Vaull Starr

"Many persons have a wrong idea of what constitutes happiness. It is not attained through self-gratification but through fidelity to a worthy purpose." Helen Keller

"Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off the goal." Mitzi Chandler
